Peace Seeker, can you hear them? The chestnuts popping as they roast on an open fire? Has Jack Frost nipped at your nose? Have you gone for a sleigh ride? Have you made your list and checked it twice? Do you have your hot chocolate and gingerbread men? Do you have some popcorn for popping? Have you turned out the lamps to just sit on the sofa taking in the Christmas tree lights? Have you scanned the skies for snow? Are you going to be home for Christmas? Are you dreaming of a white Christmas and hoping to recreate memories from long past?
Don’t you wish that’s what Christmas was? Sleigh rides and fleece blankets. Tasty treats and dreams of sugar plums and peace on earth. Shoes kicked off at the end of the day feet in cozy socks. Carols on vinyl and twinkling lights spreading cheer and magic.
Laughter and whispers. Wishes made on shooting stars and anticipation of anticipation. Excitement of just being alive to enjoy the experience of the holiday.
I’m in a nostalgic, hopeful, peaceful place right now Peace Seeker, I hope you are as well. I’m going to just bask in the glow of peace and magic for a while longer and hopefully it will carry over through the whole season.
Meet me back here tomorrow if you can.
