Free Verse Hippie Poetry…Summer Daze

Summer haze

at the water

like glass

current moving not too fast

just rolling along

like your favorite song

on a transistor radio.

Nowhere to be, nowhere to go.

Gentle breeze lifts your hair

without a care

in the world

that seems so far removed

you hope this doesn’t end too soon.

The sun is high and it’s not even noon.

Tanned feet

sun-kissed cheeks

another sip of strawberry wine

and you’re feeling fine.

Coconut and lime,

that’s the smell of sunshine

streaming all around

like a halo of peace that surrounds

and hugs and protects the

dreamers and

the believers

and the peace-seekers.

The artists

the dancers

the music makers.

One world

one love

one chance to get it right

make another wish on the stars tonight.

For now

another stretch

another swim

another sip

peace fills to the brim

flows over and trickles out

this is what a summer daze is all about.

So, there you have it, off the top of my old hippie head, today’s free verse hippie poetry. I don’t know about you my friend, but I can dig it. I hope you do too and I hope you can stop by again soon. Much Peace Love Art~DSCN4183
